Sala Futsal Club Girls u12s have been crowned FA Pokemon Youth Futsal Cup Regional Champions.
The National competition is the Futsal version of the FA Youth Football Cup.
During the 2022/23 season local County FA's have run local qualifying rounds with winners from each FA moving onto one of 4 Regional finals events, with the Regional winners moving onto the National Finals at Wolverhampton University on the 8th/9th July.
This weekend ( 27th/28th May ) was the Northern Regional finals with boys and girls teams from all over the North of England at u10s, u12s, u14s and u16s battling it out to win this prestigious title.
Sala Futsal Club based in Tameside had 5 teams entered at differing age groups with their u12s Girls being crowned Regional winners for the second year running.
This year the girls hope they can go one better and win the competition after being National runners up in 2022.
Sala Head Coach Neil Lucas said:
" The girls have been working really hard all season for this after recently winning the North West Boys u12s Futsal league they wanted to go one better this year and be the best team in the country"
The Sala girls have players from Tameside and Greater Manchester and train every Friday at Wright Robinson College Gorton.
Sala run weekly training sessions in Tameside & Gorton as well as run trams that play in local leagues and competitions
