Latics have signed defender Peter Clarke from Bury on a one year deal and midfielder Ollie Banks from Chesterfield on a two year contract.
Clarke, the former Everton, Huddersfield and Blackpool centre-back Clarke made 48 appearances during his one season at Gigg Lane and was named the club's player of the year.
Banks, who began his career with Rotherham, scored nine goals in 81 league appearances during his three seasons with Chesterfield.
